The Benelli TRK 502 Was in coming for over a year now.
It has not been a good ride for Benelli from the Indian market, but due to its cooperation with the Mahavir Group, things are looking up for the company. Benelli will finally be launching the TRK 502 along with the TRK 502 X in India on February 18, 2019. The TRK 502 will be the road-going version while the TRK 502 X is going to function as off-road focussed variant with wire-spoke wheels are perhaps a few more off-roading kit. The motorcycle was first showcased in the 2016 Auto Expo rather than long after the company had to stop its operations in India with DSK (its past partner) running to financial issues.
The Benelli TRK is going to be the first motorcycle to be launched under the new cooperation and the two variations will share the framework and the motor that is a 499 cc parallel-twin that’s liquid-cooled and creates about 47 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 45 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. There’ll be a 6-speed gearbox available as well. Other characteristics include 50 mm USD forks and a monoshock at the back. For braking, the Benelli TRK 502 will utilize 320 millimeter twin discs up front and a 260 millimeter disc at the rear. The TRK 502 X will find a larger 19-inch wheel up front and a 17-inch unit at the rear while the standard TRK will feature 17-inch units at either ends. The dry weight of this Benelli TRK 502 is roughly 213 kg, meaning it will not exactly be a light bike.
We believe that Benelli will price the TRK 502 and the TRK 502 X involving $ 5 lakh and $ 6 lakh (ex-showroom). While it may not have an immediate rival in the traditional sense, but when priced competitively, it could be less expensive than a whole bunch of other adventure bicycles such as the Kawasaki Versys 650, Suzuki V-Strom 650 along with the SWM SuperDual T.
