The Apple AirPods were announced back in September 2016, alongside the iPhone 7 along with iPhone 7 Plus. The announcement was important, as the iPhone 7 range was the very first from Apple to do away with the 3.5mm headphone jack. The AirPods were pitched as the ideal alternative, providing wireless connectivity and a genuinely wireless listening experience. It’s been over two decades since the AirPods were launched, and we can see its successor, the AirPods two, launched later this month in an Apple event – according to a report.

Apple is reportedly planning an event on March 25 in its Apple Park campus, which will be its first major announcement of 2019. The focus of the event is likely to be on services, using a news subscription agency as well as the much-anticipated video streaming service that can take on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video reportedly being announced. While it was originally considered that no hardware products will soon be announced, speculation today indicates the Apple AirPods two could be launched in the event.

According to a report by Spanish website AppleSfera, industry sources have verified the AirPods 2 will also be launched in the March 25 event. The website has also spoken to a supplier on condition of anonymity, who showed evidence of the product life-cycle of this AirPods coming to an end on March 28. The AirPods 2 will reportedly go on sale on March 29, linking in with the deadline.
